Writer, journalist and columnist Maravathe Prakash Padiyar passes away at 64

Udupi, Aug 5: Writer, journalist and columnist Maravathe Prakash Padiyar passed away at the age of 64, at the Hosabelaku Ashram, Karkala on August 5.

Prakash Padiyar, was active in literature and social activities. His articles attracted the attention of the administration and his reports on problems of the rural areas got response and resolved. He was honoured by various organizations for his achievements. He worked as a life insurance agent for a few years and in the media.

Prakash Padiyar was mentally disturbed due to his health issues and was shifted to Hosabelaku Ashram in Karkala by social worker Nithyanand Volakadu and Taranath Mesta on May 18. The ashram coordinator Tanula Tarun nurtured him with love.

The deceased Prakash Padiyar is survived by his wife and two daughters.
