Mangaluru, Aug 5: Young Mangaluru-based author Reshel Bretny Fernandes has been nominated for the prestigious ‘The Patriot of India’ award in recognition of her literary contribution to the theme of nation-building.

Her book, titled “Bharat at 2047: Role of Youth”, explores the vital role that young Indians can and must play in shaping the country’s future. The work has garnered national attention for its vision-oriented content and emphasis on civic responsibility and youth-led transformation.

The nomination comes under the ‘Digital Bharat’ initiative of the Tagore Research and Educational Training (TRET) Organisation, a New Delhi-based body that promotes education, research, and national development through intellectual and cultural engagement.

TRET’s ‘The Patriot of India’ award is conferred upon individuals who have made notable contributions towards building the nation, especially through writing, research, or educational efforts. The recognition is part of the organisation’s celebrations for India’s Independence Day, commemorating those whose efforts align with the spirit of patriotism and progress.

Reshel’s selection for the award underscores the impact of her work in motivating and empowering India’s youth through thoughtful, visionary writing. Her nomination also reflects a growing recognition of young voices in shaping public discourse on India's development trajectory.
