El Alamein, Aug 10: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has urged Muslim nations to act in unison and rally global opposition to Israel’s plan to take control of Gaza City. Speaking in El Alamein on Saturday after talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and a meeting with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Fidan called the move a dangerous escalation that must be stopped.
Turkey and Egypt had earlier condemned the plan, with Ankara calling it a new phase in Israel’s “genocidal and expansionist policies”. Fidan accused Israel of forcing Palestinians out through hunger and seeking a permanent occupation of Gaza, while stressing that there is no justification for countries to continue supporting such actions.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister termed the plan “inadmissible” and reaffirmed full coordination with Turkey. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has been called to an emergency meeting, with its ministerial committee condemning Israel’s proposal as a violation of international law that would destroy any chance for peace.
The OIC urged world powers and the UN Security Council to take urgent steps to halt the plan and hold Israel accountable for what it described as serious breaches of humanitarian and legal norms.
