Glue addiction tragedy: Man attacks family in Maharashtra, grandmother dies

Beed, Aug 10: A horrifying incident linked to glue addiction unfolded in Parli city of Maharashtra’s Beed district, where a man, reportedly under the influence of glue, attacked his parents and grandmother with a knife after they refused to give him money. The assailant, Arbaaz Ramzan Qureshi, fatally injured his grandmother, Zubeda Qureshi, who died on the spot. His parents are critically injured and receiving treatment at a government hospital in Ambajogai.

The accused reportedly demanded money to fund his addiction and turned violent when denied. Police have taken him into custody.

Glue intoxication, caused by inhaling toxic chemicals like toluene found in adhesives, is a growing concern, especially among youth and minors. It can cause hallucinations and serious health issues including hearing loss, organ damage, and neurological disorders.
