Patna, Aug 11: A tragic incident has ignited public fury in Samastipur, Bihar, after a 19-year-old student, Gudiya Kumari, was allegedly shot and killed by her private school teacher. The young woman was returning home from her coaching institute when the attack occurred in the village of Kothiyan.

According to her family and police, the teacher, a resident of Nalanda district, had been harassing Gudiya to marry him. Her family claims they had previously filed a police complaint after he threatened her, but no action was taken. They believe the teacher's "one-sided love" was the motive for the attack, as Gudiya had consistently rejected his advances.

After the shooting, Gudiya collapsed and died at the scene. Villagers, enraged by the crime, rushed to the spot and set the private school on fire. The accused teacher managed to flee.

The incident has triggered a major protest, with villagers blocking the main Singhia–Baheri–Darbhanga road and demanding the immediate arrest of the suspect. Senior police officials are now at the scene, trying to calm the crowd. Authorities have confirmed that they have recovered the body for post-mortem and are conducting raids to find and arrest the teacher. They have assured the public that the accused will be brought to justice.
