Mangaluru, Aug 15: Expert PU College, Kodialbail, came alive with patriotic fervour as it celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on campus.
The event was graced by Geetha Kulkarni, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru City Crime Branch, who served as the chief guest. She ceremoniously unfurled the national flag. Kulkarni opened her speech with a heartfelt childhood prayer: ‘Hai Bhagwaan, hum tere bacche nadaan, pada likh kar hum bane mahaan, aisa do humein varadaan.’
She reminded students that Independence is not just a historical event but a daily responsibility. “The vision of our ancestors extended far beyond political freedom. It was about cultivating a progressive mindset and building a nation rooted in values.

Carrying the spirit of the flag means upholding our duties with pride and commitment.”
