New Delhi, Aug 16: A tragic accident in Moti Nagar on Saturday morning claimed the life of a biker after he was hit by a speeding Mahindra Thar. The victim, identified as Bechu Lal, a resident of Prem Nagar, died on the spot.

Visuals from the site showed the bike crushed between the Thar and a truck, while the car’s windshield bore multiple cracks. The Thar driver, Amarinder Singh Sodhi, fled immediately, leaving the vehicle behind. Police recovered two bottles of alcohol from the car.

A senior police officer said, “The driver fled immediately after the incident. Legal action is being taken, and multiple teams have been formed to apprehend him.” CCTV footage is being examined to track the accused.

Bechu Lal’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and his family has been informed. This is the second fatal incident in a week involving the Mahindra Thar, which has recently been under scrutiny for rash driving. Last week, a pedestrian was killed in Chanakyapuri when a speeding Thar lost control near the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
