New Delhi, Aug 16: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out the FASTag Annual Pass at around 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and Expressways, offering a seamless and economical travel option for users.
The annual pass has seen an overwhelming response, with about 1.4 lac users purchasing and activating it and 1.39 lac toll transactions recorded by 7:00 pm on the first day of its launch, August 15. Around 20,000–25,000 users accessed the Rajmargyatra App concurrently, receiving SMS confirmations of zero toll deduction.
“NHAI officials and nodal officers are stationed at each toll plaza to ensure smooth travel. Queries and grievances are being addressed through multiple channels, and the National Highway Helpline 1033 has been strengthened with over 100 additional executives,” said NHAI.
The FASTag Annual Pass allows non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag to pay a one-time fee of Rs 3,000 for a year’s validity or 200 toll crossings. Activation occurs within two hours via the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website.
With a FASTag penetration of around 98% and over 8 crore users, the system has transformed electronic toll collection in India. The new Annual Pass is expected to further enhance user experience and make journeys on highways and expressways more economical and hassle-free.
