Mangaluru: A J Institute of Management hosts ‘Cultural Day’ celebration

Mangaluru, Aug 19: A J Institute of Management, a constituent unit of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust organized 'Cultural Day' celebration at the institute's conference hall on Thursday, August, 14.

Renowned Kannada and Tulu film actor Swaraj Shetty inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, he said that cultural programmes play a vital role in developing students’ overall personality along with education. Further, he also stated that cultural activities encourage creativity, talent and self-confidence among students, he added.

On this occasion, Swaraj Shetty was felicitated by the Institution for his immense contribution to the field of cinema and theatre.

The event was presided over by Dr T Jayaprakash Rao, executive director of A J Institute of Management. In his presidential address, he stated that cultural activities provide a platform for students to showcase their hidden talents and to learn leadership and teamwork.

Prashanth Shetty, vice president of LMET, and Ashritha P Shetty, director of LMET, conveyed their best wishes for the successful conduct of the programme.

Prof Chethan Kumar, faculty coordinator, cultural club introduced and welcomed the guest.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr Swapna Shetty J, director, Dr Vijaya Kumar, principal, Prof K Deepak Rao, dean – academics, and student council adviser Prof Arathi K.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof Nishkrathi Varshney, faculty coordinator, cultural club of the Institute. Hrithika T Kunder, was the master of ceremony of the programme.
