BMW launches limited ‘50 Jahre’ editions of 3 series in India

New Delhi, Aug 19: Marking 50 years of the iconic 3 Series, BMW has launched two limited-run anniversary editions in India — the BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre’ Edition priced at ?64 lakh and the BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre’ Edition at ?76.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 50 units of each model will be produced, making them exclusive collector’s items.

The BMW 3 Series, first launched in 1975 as the successor to the 02 Series, has evolved through seven generations and remains one of the world’s top-selling premium sedans, shaping the compact executive segment.

Both anniversary editions feature laser-engraved badges on the B-pillar, highlighting their limited status. The 330Li M Sport gets M High-Gloss Shadowline elements, carbon-fibre trim, and a 3D head-up display, while the M340i receives performance door pins, black M-badged fenders, and special insignia. Buyers also get M performance accessories including a custom key fob, carbon-fibre accents, and 19-inch Jet Black alloys with red brake calipers.

For enthusiasts, BMW is offering a 1:18 scale model of the classic BMW 3.0 CSL with these editions.

Under the hood, the 330Li M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 258 hp and 400 Nm torque, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. The M340i packs a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine generating 374 hp and 500 Nm torque, racing 0–100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
