Bantwal, Aug 19: A Janagraha meeting organized by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmarakshana Vedike will be held at Sparsha Kala Mandir, Bantwal, on August 20 from 10 am onwards, former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary announced at a press conference along with several leaders.
Speaking at the press meet, Poojary said that systematic false propaganda and attempts to malign the image of Dharmasthala and its religious heads have deeply hurt devotees. The meeting is being convened in response to these developments.

He alleged that certain anti-religious forces are continuously spreading false allegations and baseless fabricated news on social media, using derogatory language to defame the Dharmadhikaris. After the meeting at Sparsha Kala Mandir, participants will march to B C Road and submit a memorandum at the tahsildar’s office.
Leader N Prakash Karanth said that it is painful to see people speak with disrespect about Dharmasthala. Tukaram Poojary, president of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre, remarked that Dharmasthala has been undertaking numerous public welfare activities, and attempts to tarnish its reputation are unfortunate.
Social worker Ramadas Bantwal said that there is a larger conspiracy to destroy the noble culture nurtured by Dharmasthala. Leaders Sudarshan Jain and Ashok Shetty (Sarapady) alleged that continuous false accusations are being directed against Dharmasthala and its Dharmadhikaris.
Prominent personalities including Tungappa Banger, Praveen Kadabettoor, Subhashchandra Jain, Prabhakar Prabhu, Vasanth Manihall, Suresh Kulal, Shekar Samani, Purushottam Majalu, Naveenchandra Shetty, Ronald D’Souza, Sadananda Navara, Jayakeerthi Jain, Jayachandra Bolmar and several others were present.
