UAE, Feb 5: Hello, and a warm welcome to one and all to Day 3 of the third and final Test between Pakistan and England.
The crown is slipping and England have to do something special to salvage some pride. Younis Khan scored the first century of the series and got some solid support from Azhar Ali to put Pakistan in complete control. They lead by 180 runs and are well placed to complete the series whitewash.
Pitch Report: There is some rough developing outside the off-stump area for the left handers which should help the spinners. It is still a good batting surface and England have a lot of work ahead, reckons David Lloyd.
Earlier at Stumps day 2: Younis Khan and Azhar Ali get a lot of cheers as they walk out. The England captain claps as well. This has been a superb batting display. As many as six wickets fell in the first session but no bowler managed a wicket in the remaining two. The pitch was always flat and these two batsmen made maximum use of it. They attacked the spinners and forced them to bowl a negative and defensive line. Pakistan already lead by 180, and are firmly in control of the game. Who would have thought it was possible after they were dismissed for 99 yesterday!
