'Kasarikkonam 2025' celebrated with grandeur at Srinivas University Institute of Physiotherapy

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Srinivas University, Institute of Physiotherapy came alive with colours, traditions, and celebrations as the festival of Onam, 'Kasarikkonam 2025', was observed with great enthusiasm and joy in the campus. The occasion served as a vibrant expression of cultural heritage, unity, and togetherness, drawing faculty, staff, and students into a day of festivities.

The celebration commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony, which set the tone for the day’s events. The Institute had the privilege of welcoming distinguished guests, including Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, Dr Padmanabha C H, dean, Institute of Education and Prof Prashanth Prabhu, dean, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism. Their gracious presence elevated the significance of the programme.

In her address, Dr Thrishala Noronha, dean, Institute of Physiotherapy, inspired the gathering with words that reflected the essence of Onam and the spirit of inclusivity. Dr Venkatesh S Amin conveyed his best wishes for the celebration, appreciating the efforts of the organising team and extending greetings to the entire college community. Dr Premkumar, head of the department, further extended his heartfelt Onam wishes, adding warmth to the festive occasion.

The cultural segment was the highlight, featuring a range of traditional performances and activities. From the rhythmic beats of chenda to the beauty of pookkavadi, alongside soulful music, vibrant dances, and fun-filled games, the programme encapsulated the rich heritage of Kerala. Both faculty and students participated with enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, joy, and camaraderie.

A major attraction of the celebration was the grand Onasadhya, the traditional feast, where everyone gathered to share the meal. The feast symbolised harmony, equality, and the coming together of the community, making it the perfect culmination of the day’s celebrations.
