Dakshina Kannada sees hot, cloudy weather; IMD issues rain alert

Mangaluru, Aug 26: Dakshina Kannada district on Monday witnessed hot and partly cloudy weather, with reports of light showers in some parts of the region.

Sunny conditions prevailed in Sullia, Beltangady, and Bantwal, while Puttur experienced mild chill in the morning and evening. Mangaluru and Ullal saw sunny skies with cloud cover.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a rain alert has been issued for the coastal belt from August 26 to 30, with heavy showers expected. In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 29.6°C and the minimum was 23.2°C.

The IMD has cautioned fishermen against venturing into the sea as winds with speeds of up to 60 kmph are likely to blow over the Arabian Sea between August 26 and 29.
