Mangaluru, Aug 29: Ismail had been missing from Rameshwaram Darga since July 25, 2024, as reported by his sister, Mydeen Bathu S. Although a relative had spotted him in Bengaluru, the family’s search efforts there were unsuccessful.

Ismail had struggled with alcoholism for over 20 years, which led to the breakdown of two marriages and estrangement from his children. Later, he began exhibiting symptoms of mental illness, receiving both spiritual treatment at the Darga and medical care through psychiatric intervention. However, his condition worsened, and after another visit to the Darga, he went missing again.

He was eventually found by the White Doves Team near Kadri Market and admitted on October 12, 2024. Upon admission, he showed signs of mental instability, poor hygiene, depression, and discomfort with physical contact—particularly from women.

Over several months of treatment, Ismail showed about 60% improvement, with better sleep, appetite, and self-awareness, though he continued to experience occasional episodes of irritability, fearfulness, and dependency.

Gradually, he began sharing personal details, including his hometown: Pallivasai Street, Alwarkurichi, Ambasamudram, Tamil Nadu. With the help of the Alwarkurichi police station, the White Doves Team contacted his sister, Mydeen, who confirmed his identity and expressed her willingness to care for him.

On August 28, 2025 Ismail was successfully reunited with his family, marking a hopeful step toward recovery and reintegration. This reunion also became the 460th successful reunion facilitated by White Doves.
