Patna, Sept 1: In a fiery address at the culmination of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the Election Commission of India, accusing them of orchestrating large-scale voter manipulation to rig democratic outcomes.
Speaking at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Park to a massive crowd of supporters, Gandhi alleged that the BJP, with the support of the Election Commission, had tampered with electoral rolls in multiple states to subvert election results. Promising a dramatic exposé, he warned of an imminent revelation that would shake the country.
“Earlier we exposed them using an ‘atom bomb’. Now we will drop a hydrogen bomb — one that will make it impossible for Narendra Modi to face the public,” Gandhi declared to roaring applause.

Gandhi claimed that electoral fraud had reversed the mandate of the people in states like Maharashtra and Karnataka, alleging that over one crore fake voters were added to the rolls after the Opposition’s Lok Sabha victory in Maharashtra earlier this year.
“We won in Maharashtra in 2024. Within four months, BJP and the Election Commission added one crore new names to the voter list. We verified every entry manually. It took four months to uncover this fraud,” he said.
He alleged similar tactics had been employed in Karnataka, and warned that Bihar was next on the BJP’s radar — which, he said, was the driving force behind the Voter Adhikar Yatra.
“Bihar is the land of revolution. That’s why we started the Yatra here — to awaken people to the BJP’s electoral fraud. Women, youth, and children have joined us. From here, the voice is rising across India: BJP and the Election Commission are stealing your vote,” Gandhi said.
In one of the most striking soundbites of the speech, Gandhi coined a new slogan:
“Vote Chor, Gaddi Chor” (Vote Thieves, Power Thieves) — a phrase he claimed is now echoing beyond India’s borders, even in the USA and China.
The Congress leader also invoked Mahatma Gandhi, accusing the BJP of betraying the foundational values of the Indian republic.
“The forces that assassinated Mahatma Gandhi are now out to destroy the Constitution and democracy. But we won’t let them succeed,” he declared.
As the 2025 Bihar Assembly election approaches, Gandhi’s aggressive rhetoric signals the INDIA bloc’s shift toward a combative narrative centred on electoral integrity, constitutional values, and democratic accountability — with the Voter Adhikar Yatra marking the start of what could be a high-stakes political battle.
