Mangaluru, Sep 1: In a major operation against drug trafficking, the Panambur police have arrested two men from Bihar for possessing and attempting to sell narcotic substances in the Panambur police station limits of Mangaluru city.
Acting on a tip-off, Panambur PSI Gnanasekhara and his team, under the direction of ACP (North Sub-Division) Srikant K R and the leadership of Inspector Mohammed Saleem Abbas, conducted a raid near Thokuru railway station road on September 1 at around 4:40 pm. Two youths were found in possession of ganja, allegedly intended for sale.

The accused have been identified as Harsh Kumar (22), a resident of Arnaut village, Nalanda district, Bihar and Amar Kumar (28) of Shapur village, Vaishali district, Bihar.
Police seized 1.23 kg of ganja from Harsh Kumar and 80 grams from Amar Kumar, together valued at approximately Rs 75,000. In addition, two mobile phones allegedly used for coordinating sales were confiscated.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Harsh Kumar had been working at a Meesho and Flipkart hub in Patna, while Amar Kumar was employed at a vegetable shop in Delhi. Both are accused of targeting the public in Mangaluru for selling narcotics.
A case has been registered at the Panambur police station under NDPS Act Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) (Crime No. 75/2025). Further investigations are underway.
