Ujjain, Sep 5: A fire-blowing stunt during the Phool Dol Gyaras procession here on Wednesday night turned tragic, leaving two men with severe burn injuries.

The incident occurred when performers attempted to showcase a fire act on an open vehicle as part of the procession. Eyewitnesses said artist Yuvraj Marmat filled his mouth with petrol and spat it onto a lit stick, creating a massive fireball. The flames suddenly flared up, engulfing his face, chest, and hands. Another man standing close by was also caught in the fire.

In a shocking scene captured on video, both victims were seen ablaze, jumping off the vehicle and tearing off their burning clothes. Several vehicles nearby also caught fire during the mishap.

Locals immediately rushed the injured men to Charak Hospital before one of them was shifted to a private facility.

Medical Officer Dr Yash Goswami confirmed that one victim sustained 36 percent burns, but both are reported to be out of danger.
