Dhanbad, Sep 6: A middle-aged tribal woman allegedly murdered her husband and buried his body inside their house for over 10 days in Tilaiyatan village, Dhanbad district, police said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Surji Majhiyain (42), reportedly killed her husband, Suresh Hansda (45), after a heated argument over his alcoholism and extramarital affairs. Police said she used a stick and a sickle to carry out the crime.

The case came to light when relatives and neighbours noticed Suresh’s absence and a foul smell from the house. Majhiyain initially gave different accounts but confessed after interrogation. The body will be exhumed and sent for post-mortem at Shahid Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital.
Tundi police station in-charge Uma Shankar said investigations are ongoing, including recovery of the murder weapons, while the exact date of death will be confirmed after the autopsy.
