Bantwal, Sep 6: Loreto English Medium High School, CBSE, celebrated Teacher’s Day with deep respect and warmth on September 6 in the school auditorium. The programme was jointly organised by the PTA and the students.
The programme began with a prayer by the school choir. School manager Fr Francis Crasta, chief guest Dr Adelaide D’Sa, retd associate professor HOD of mathematics department, St Agnes College, principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis, PTA vice president Rodney Ivan D’Souza, vice principal Anitha Pais, school head girl Riya Lobo were present on the dais.

The dignitaries inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp, followed by a floral tribute to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Chief guest Dr Adelaide D’Sa In her address highlighted the invaluable contributions of Dr S Radhakrishnan and explained the necessity of teachers in today’s AI and digital era. She also shared her own life story from her teaching days to show how teachers transform students with compassion and guidance.
Fr Jason Vijay Monis, the principal, in his message, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers for their dedication and service. He encouraged students to learn valuable lessons from their teachers and thanked the PTA and students for organizing the programme.
The manager, Fr Francis Crasta, narrated a meaningful story and explained how teachers continue to outsmart students even in the digital era. He underlined that teachers are changemakers and life builders, deserving of the highest respect as their noble profession surpasses all others. He reminded the students that teachers correct out of love, not hatred, and hence should always be honoured. He also distributed gifts to all the teachers as a token of appreciation. The PTA and students too presented gifts to the teachers.
Fun-filled games were conducted for the teachers, adding joy and laughter to the celebration. The winners were honoured by the chief guest.
The students presented a beautiful cultural programme to mark the occasion. Nishel Saldana spoke on the significance of the day. PTA vice president Rodney Ivan D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The programme was compered by Prathibha PTA member and Afeeda of grade 10, and Asline of grade 10 proposed the vote of thanks.
The celebration echoed with gratitude, honoring the selfless hearts, guiding minds, and nurturing spirits of teachers awakening a deep appreciation for their role in shaping futures.
