Bantwal, Sep 8: A house was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out in the early hours of Monday at Narikombu village in Bantwal taluk.

The incident occurred around 4 am at the residence of Ramesh in Borugudde. Preliminary suspicion points to an electrical short circuit as the cause of the blaze. Fortunately, the family members sleeping inside managed to escape without injuries.

The fire reduced household appliances and other belongings to ashes. Firefighters from Bantwal rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai visited the site and assured the family of relief measures from the government.
