Moradabad, Sep 9: In a shocking incident, a mother in Moradabad allegedly placed her 15-day-old infant inside a refrigerator after the baby refused to sleep. The child was saved in the nick of time by the grandmother, who heard the infant’s cries.

The incident took place in Jabbar Colony, where the woman had delivered her baby just 15 days ago. Following childbirth, she is said to have been suffering from postnatal depression. Disturbed that her newborn was not sleeping, she reportedly carried the baby and put him inside the refrigerator before going to her room and falling asleep.

Moments later, the grandmother heard the baby’s loud cries. Alarmed, she rushed to the spot, discovered the infant inside the fridge, and immediately pulled him out. The baby was rushed to a hospital where doctors confirmed that he is safe and in stable condition.

Relatives revealed that the mother has been undergoing mental health issues since delivery. On their advice, she is now receiving treatment from psychiatrists.

Doctors assured that the infant is out of danger and remains healthy.
