New Delhi, Sep 10: Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu on Wednesday said that Air India and IndiGo will operate additional flights to bring back passengers stranded in Kathmandu following the unrest in Nepal.
The minister said airlines have also been advised to keep fares at reasonable levels. “Due to airport closure in Nepal, many home-bound passengers were unable to return from Kathmandu. With the reopening of airport operations, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, in coordination with Air India and IndiGo, has arranged additional flights this evening and over the next few days, alongside scheduled services resuming tomorrow,” Naidu posted on X.

Air India confirmed that it is operating special flights today and tomorrow from Delhi to Kathmandu and back to help stranded passengers.
Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, which was closed due to unrest, reopened on Wednesday.
