Mangaluru, Sep 17: The valedictory ceremony of Expressions 2025, the national-level intercollegiate fest of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, was held on September 17, at the college auditorium. The day-long celebration, dedicated to the birth centenary of founder principal Dr Olinda Pereira, concluded with an inspiring and memorable closing programme.

The ceremony began with a prayer by Tim and Team, followed by a formal welcome by Brinelle, general secretary.

In his valedictory address, Swaraj Shetty, acclaimed Sandalwood actor and chief guest, He spoke about the growing recognition of Tulu cinema, highlighting how it is now telling impactful stories. He also encouraged students, reminding them that while everyone has talent, it is important to come forward and showcase it with confidence. His words left the audience inspired and motivated.

The presidential address was delivered by Dr Prof Sandra Sunitha Lobo, dean of Undergraduate Studies, paid homage to the founding principal, the late Dr Olinda Pereira, remembered as “a star born a century ago” whose legacy continues to inspire. Marking 25 years of Expressions, the speech acknowledged icons like Swaraj Shetty and  Trushar Suresh for their contributions. The president praised the fest’s performances as “supercalifragilistic, splendid, and timeless,” and concluded by thanking all participants and guests while reaffirming Dr Pereira’s enduring influence.

The programme also featured student feedback, where participants shared their experiences of the fest, describing Expressions 2025 – Legends Reborn as an enriching blend of competition, collaboration, and creativity. A presentation of glimpses from the fest further showcased the vibrant events and enthusiastic participation from students across institutions.

Eshika Rai, cultural secretary, proposed a vote of thanks, appreciating the guidance of faculty, the encouragement of sponsors, and the active involvement of students that made the event a success.

The highlight of the ceremony was the prize distribution, where winners of various competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries.The winners of Expressions 2025 was Yenepoya Allied Health Sciences and PA Day College Udupi emerged as runners

The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a vibrant celebration of talent and creativity. With its legacy of 25 years, Expressions 2025 once again reaffirmed its role as a platform for youth empowerment, innovation, and social consciousness, keeping alive the vision of Dr Olinda Pereira.
