Dubai, Sep 19: Mangalore Konkans Dubai proudly brought home the prestigious rolling trophy at the much-celebrated Aatidonji Dina 2025, organized by SCENT (Sandhya Creation Event Network Team) on September 14. The event was held at the Al Garhoud Ballroom, Millennium Airport Hotel, Dubai, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from several Konkani associations.
Under the able leadership of Alwyn Pinto, Mangalore Konkans Dubai made a remarkable mark by actively participating in multiple competitions and excelling across categories.
















The team’s major achievements included:
• First place – Food counter contest: Members prepared and showcased 15 authentic Aati delicacies, delighting the judges and visitors alike.
• First place – Fancy dress competition: Lolita Noronha impressed everyone by enacting the iconic character “Kollur Akkamahadevi.”
• First place – Humorous poem recitation (Kavi Ghosti): Lancy Noronha secured First place with by giving tough competition and it was tie!
• Second place – Humorous poem recitation (Kavi Ghosti): Floyd Nirkan secured second place with his witty and engaging performance.
• Special award for outstanding dish: The traditional and flavorsome ‘Menthe Ganji’ won a special jury award.
In addition to these wins, Mangalore Konkans Dubai also participated in the Singing and Dancing competitions, showcasing their cultural vibrancy and team spirit.
Securing the highest cumulative points across competitions, Mangalore Konkans Dubai was awarded the coveted Rolling Trophy of Aatidonji Dina 2025 — a testament to their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to keeping Konkani culture alive in the UAE.
Speaking about the win, president Stephen Menezes expressed his joy and gratitude to all members, saying, “Mangalore Konkans Dubai is not just about organizing events; we believe in active participation wherever possible.
