Udupi, Sep 19: “The BJP has politicized social and educational survey by state government,” said KPCC vice president and MLC Ivan D’Souza, addressing the press conference held at Udupi district Congress office on Friday September 19.
MLC Ivan D’Souza said, "The social and educational survey by Karnataka state government will be conducted across Karnataka from September 22 through October. The government has prepared 60 questions for the survey and 20 households will be covered per teacher. They say that the people conducting the survey are not properly trained, but this is not a political survey – it is a government survey. There is no need for the BJP to unnecessarily criticize it. On what basis are they making such statements? All MLAs and social organizations should participate in the survey.”

MLA Ivan D’Souza further stating about the 'vote chor' issue, said, “During the core committee meeting we decided about the campaign launched by Rahul Gandhi ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chod’, campaign aims to present the issue of vote theft happening across the state and country before the Election Commission. Those who came to power by vote chor are to step down from their position. Every vote is to build the nation. The election commission must take it in positively and investigate the issue. There are 1,11100 voters, therefore from Udupi we will collect signatures from voters at booth level to support the campaign. The signature drive has begun from September 15 and will continue for 10-15 days.”
MLA Ivan D’Souza stated that the much-awaited Udupi taluk and zilla panchayat election will take place before December 2025. “We will decide whether to have ballot papers or EVM for the upcoming election. Congress is growing stronger across the country. When the vote chor complaint is filed it is the duty of the election commission to investigate the case,” he said.
