Chatra, Sep 19: A 24-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death after a quarrel over marriage in Jharkhand’s Chatra district, police said on Friday.
The victim, Md Muntajir (34) of Sasang village in Latehar district, had visited his girlfriend Shabbu Praveen alias Noorjahan at Lamta village under Lawalong police station on Thursday evening. During a heated argument about their marriage, Noorjahan allegedly attacked him with a knife.
Muntajir was rushed to Chatra Sadar Hospital and later referred to RIMS, Ranchi, but died on the way, police said.
“Before his death, the victim gave a statement that enabled us to register an FIR,” said Lawalong Police Station in-charge Prashant Mishra. The accused has been arrested, and the weapon seized. She was produced before court on Friday and remanded to judicial custody.
