New Delhi, Sep 19: India on Friday highlighted the nexus between terrorists and the Pakistani state after several video messages circulated featuring Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) leaders discussing retaliation against India’s military strikes in May.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the videos exposed Islamabad’s links with terror groups. “The world is aware of the nexus between the terrorists and the Pakistani state and military. Such statements make it even more glaring,” he said during his weekly media briefing.

The videos reportedly urge people to join JeM for “jihad” against India, while some show JeM leaders commenting on the impact of India’s strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure. In a viral video on Thursday, JeM commander Ilyas Kashmiri claimed that Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir had directed the Corps Commander of Bahawalpur and soldiers to attend the funeral of those killed in India’s missile strikes on JeM headquarters on May 7.

India had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-controlled territories. The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes, ending with an understanding to halt military actions on May 10.

Jaiswal reiterated India’s consistent stance that there is no scope for third-party mediation in India-Pakistan issues. Responding to Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s claims of a ceasefire dialogue via the US, he clarified: “There is absolutely no role for third-party mediation in India-Pakistan issues.”
