Karkala, Sep 26: A special workshop on navigating mass media was held on September 26, organised by IQAC, department of journalism of Government First Grade College Karkala, benefiting 1st-year BA journalism students.

The session was led by Ashwini, assistant professor, department of media studies, St Aloysius Deemed to be University. During the day long workshop, Ashwini shared her expertise, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the media industry and its various facets.

In the workshop, students gained insights into the dynamic landscape of media, including its role in shaping public discourse and opinion. The workshop covered media theory, ethics, and practices, preparing students for careers in journalism, advertising, public relations, and digital media.

It was organised by Sowmya H K, associate professor in department of economics. The programme commenced with an invocation by Deepika and Nithya of I BA, invoking blessings and positivity for the occasion. Sushmitha welcomed the gatherings and Sowjanya of I BA performed vote of thanks. The master of ceremony for the programme was Arathi of I BA.
