Udupi: Congress Election Preparatory Meet Tomorrow

Udupi, Feb 10: A meeting that will be precursor to the coming Lok Sabha bypoll in the constituency, which also aims at spreading awareness among voters about the achievements and projects undertaken by the UPA government at the centre, is being convened at Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri here, at 11 am on Saturday February 11.

This was stated by C M Dhananjaya, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee’s (KPCC)  legal and human rights cell president, at a press conference convened here on Thursday February 9.  He expected over 500 members of his party to take part in the meeting.

“KPCC president, Dr Parameshwar, will inaugurate the meeting. All India Congress Committee general secretary, Oscar Fernandes, union minister for corporate affairs, M Veerappa Moily, union railway minister, K H Muniyappa, leader of the opposition in state assembly, Siddaramaiah,  leader of the opposition in legislative council, Motamma, and others will be taking part. Other leaders like Janardhana Poojary, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Vasant V Salian, Jayaprakash Hegde, B L Shankar, Ramanath Rai, Gopal Poojary, MLA, Gopal Bhandary, MLC, K Pratapchandra Shetty, K P Nanjundi, M A Gafoor, will also participate in the deliberations,” he explained.

Convener, Muniyappa, advocates, Prakash Shetty and Lakshman Shenoy, were present at the press conference.
