Mangaluru, Sep 28: The Cloistered Carmel Sisters of the Sacred Heart Monastery, Kankanady, Mangaluru, celebrated the Centenary of the Sainthood of St Thérèse of Lisieux along with the Solemnity of St Thérèse of Lisieux.
As part of the celebrations, an exhibition on the life of St Thérèse of Lisieux was held at the Sacred Heart Monastery, Kankanady, Mangaluru. Continuing the programme, a prayer service is being conducted from September 28 to October 1.




























The inaugural ceremony was held on Sunday, September 28. It was inaugurated by Ramona Pereira, Golden Book of World Records achiever. The blessing was conferred by Fr Melwyn D’Cunha OCD, Superior of St Joseph Monastery.
The event was graced by Sr Rose Celine B S, superior general of the Bethany Congregation, who released the book titled “Crucible of Sufferings – A Path to Perfect Love, according to St Thérèse of Lisieux” written by Rudolph V D’Souza.
The chief guests present on the occasion were Rolphy D’Costa, former president of Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru region; Elias Fernandes, a well-known media coordinator in Mangaluru; Maxim Moras, traffic warden and social worker; Sr Jacintha D’Costa, representing Carmel Sabha; and Victor D’Souza as the book representative. The programme was conducted by Stanley Bantwal, while Priya Noronha compered the event.
On the feast day of St Thérèse, October 1, James Pius D’Souza will celebrate the Holy Mass. In preparation for this, from September 28th to 30th, Eucharistic adoration and Mass will be conducted by Fr Pranam.
