Madhya Pradesh woman murdered, body found in blue drum

Daijiworld Media Network – Dewas

Dewas, Oct 3: In a chilling crime reminiscent of past ‘blue drum’ murders, the decomposed body of 22-year-old Lakshita Chaudhary was found inside a blue drum at a house in Vaishali Avenue Colony, Dewas district. Her hands and legs were tied, and she was dressed in a Garba outfit.

The accused, 35-year-old Monu alias Manoj Chauhan, reportedly drowned Lakshita in anger after discovering she was in a relationship with someone else. He surrendered to the police following the crime.

Lakshita had been missing for three days after leaving for college on Monday. Panic arose in the colony when a foul smell emanated from Monu’s house. Police recovered her body, covered with a bedsheet, near the drum.

Dewas police have sent the body to Indore for postmortem, while the accused remains under interrogation. Speaking to media, Lakshita’s father said, “Anyone’s daughter can be the victim of such a crime. I hope the accused faces capital punishment.”

Earlier blue drum murders shocked the nation in Meerut and Alwar, where victims were killed and their bodies concealed in drums by close associates.
