Huli Vesha performer assaulted in Gangolli by group, case registered

Gangolli, Oct 5: A Huli Vesha (tiger dance) performer was allegedly assaulted by a group accusing him of performing for money. The incident took place at Trasi on the evening of October 3.

According to reports, Sudarshan from Bavikatte in Gangolli had gone with his Huli Vesha team to perform at the Vinayak Bus Body Builder Company in Trasi. It is alleged that two individuals stopped him at the premises and pushed him out. Later, around 8 to 10 workers from the company reportedly joined in, assaulted Sudarshan with a steel rod, and abused and threatened him.

The complaint states that the group accused him of coming there to collect money through Huli Vesha performances and warned that he would be killed if he returned.

A case has been registered at the Gangolli police station in connection with the incident.
