Kundapur: MITK holds two-day workshop on ‘Financial Planning for Young Professional’

Kundapur, Oct 6: The department of MBA, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MITK) Kundapur, in association with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), organized a two-day workshop on the topic ‘Financial Planning for Young Professionals: Building a Strong Foundation’.

Steven Robert Tellis, SEBI smart trainer, served as the resource person for the workshop. He enlightened students on various aspects of investment and financial planning. He emphasized the importance of setting life goals, planning systematically to achieve them, and reducing unnecessary expenses to increase savings. He advised students to channel these savings into mutual funds and explained how to earn higher returns through different levels of investments.

During the session, he also provided insights into mutual funds, equity, derivatives, and commodity markets. As part of the practical learning experience, real-time trading demonstrations were conducted to help students gain hands-on exposure and interest in investment activities.

MITK principal Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, head of the MBA department Dr Suchitra Poojary, faculty members, and MBA students were present during the workshop.
