Monthi Fest 2025 celebrated with devotion and joy by Vasai Konkani Welfare Association

Mumbai, Oct 11: The Vasai Konkani Welfare Association (VKWA) celebrated Monthi Fest 2025 with great devotion, unity, and cultural splendour on September 13 at Vishwakarma Hall, Vasai (West).

The celebration began with a grand procession carrying the statue of Bambina Mother Mary, accompanied by children performing a graceful prayer dance. This was followed by a short prayer led by Mable Santhumayor and Albert D’Costa.

President Reginald Santhmayor extended a warm welcome to all guests and attendees. The event featured a variety of cultural programmes, beautifully hosted by Hilda D’Souza, with stage compering by Lenisha Sequeira and Aranha.

Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Fr Aasis Rodrigues, parish priest of St Michael Church, Manickpur; former VVMC mayors Narayan Mankar, Uma Patil, and Prakash Rodrigues; former VKWA president Stephen Fernandes; president of Virar Konkani Association Dian D’Souza; VKWA advisor Jossie Menezes; secretary Albert D’Costa; treasurer Henry Pinto; and coordinator John D’Souza.

The celebration was meticulously organised by the managing committee along with the ladies wing members, ensuring a seamless and joyous event.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by coordinator John D’Souza, followed by the traditional Noven Jovon blessing by Fr Aasis Rodrigues, marking the spirit of gratitude and community bonding.
