Gurugram, Oct 13: A 21-year-old labourer was killed after a pile of iron rods fell from a trailer at a construction site near Ambience Mall on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased, identified as Rohit from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, was working at a private company’s multi-storey construction project in the DLF 3 area. Around 4 pm, the rods slipped and fell when a truck carrying construction waste collided with the trailer, police said.

Rohit, who was sitting on the stacked rods, was trapped under the debris and later declared dead at a nearby hospital.

Police said no FIR has been filed so far, as initial inquiry suggests it was an accident. Rohit’s relatives, who work at the same site, have been informed.
