Calangute, Oct 13: A chaotic scene unfolded at a hotel in Calangute, Goa, when two inebriated tourists from Jaipur were detained by the Goa Police for allegedly causing a disturbance. Eyewitnesses reported that the situation escalated as the duo assaulted police officers while being transported in a police vehicle, grabbing their collars and resisting arrest.

During the altercation, the accused reportedly claimed affiliation with the notorious Bishnoi gang, brazenly asserting that no action could be taken against them. Their behaviour not only disrupted public order but also posed a direct threat to law enforcement officials involved.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections for assault on public servants. The two individuals remain in custody at the Calangute Police Station as investigations continue. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the safety of police personnel and rising instances of tourist misconduct in the coastal state.
