Hospital employee points gun at medical officer over salary row in MP

Shivpuri, Oct 16: Panic gripped a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district after an employee allegedly pointed a gun at a Block Medical Officer (BMO) over unpaid salary.

The accused, identified as Manish Najgarh, a dresser at the Kolaras tehsil hospital, was caught on video storming into the officer’s room, pulling out a gun, and aiming it at the BMO’s head. Shocked staff and patients can be heard gasping in the viral clip.

Najgarh, reportedly furious over not receiving his salary for the past 12 months, blamed the BMO for the delay. However, officials said the allegations were false.

District Chief Health Officer Dr Sanjay Risheshwar clarified that Najgarh’s salary had been paid till September 2025. “The accusations are baseless. His act was dangerous and unacceptable. He has been suspended and legal action has been initiated,” he said.
Officials also revealed that Najgarh had previously faced disciplinary issues, including being caught drinking alcohol while on duty.

Police have launched an investigation, and the incident has sparked widespread outrage and concern over workplace safety in healthcare institutions.
