Udupi: Young lovers hang themselves to death

Udupi, Oct 17: A tragic incident occurred on October 16 evening when two young lovers died by suicide by hanging themselves from the railing of a house.

The incident took place at a rented house in Labour Colony, Kalikambanagar, Ambalapady, where the young woman resided. It is reported that the couple took the extreme step when no one else was present in the house.

The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained. The deceased have been identified as Pavithra (17), a college student from a migrant worker family, and Mallesh (23), a migrant worker.

City police station SI Bharatesh, ASI Parameshwar K, ASI Ramesh, and head constable Jayakar visited the spot and conducted legal formalities.

Social worker Nityananda Volakad helped shift the bodies to the post-mortem unit of the Ajjarkadu District Hospital in an ambulance.
