Udupi, Oct 17: Vishwakarma Yuva Milana demands justice over the death of Abhishek Acharya, who allegedly ended his life at a private lodge in Belman on October 9, terming it as a clear case of murder.
Vikram I Acharya, founder president, Vishwakarma Yuva Milana, addressing the media in the press conference held on October 17, on Justice for Abhishek Acharya, who committed suicide on October 9 at a private lodge in Belman, said, “Abhishek had written a seven-page death note before taking his life. Isn’t that enough evidence for the police to arrest the accused? In his note, he had named four people - Niriksha, Rakesh, Rahul, and Taslim and even shared it on social media before his death. Despite this, none of them have been taken into custody. An FIR was registered against them at the Karkala Town police station on October 9, but so far only their mobile phones have been seized.”

Vikram I Acharya further alleged that the four accused had been harassing Abhishek for money, extorting around Rs 3 - 4 lacs from him. “Abhishek through Niriksha’s WhatsApp found out that they had secretly recorded private visuals using a hidden camera and were circulating them abroad. When he tried to distance himself, they allegedly threatened him with his life and physically assaulted him. Later, they began blackmailing him for money and even threatened to harm his brother. Feeling that he would never get justice alive, Abhishek took the extreme step,” Vikram Acharya stated.
The Vishwakarma Yuva Milana, representing the Vishwakarma community, has urged the police to immediately arrest the four accused and initiate strict action against them to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
The press conference was attended by general secretary Vishwakarma Yuva Milan K A Naveen Acharya, secretary Vishwakarma Bandugalu Subramanta Acharya, and Sukesh.
