LMH, Udupi Runners Club to hold second edition of Lombard Mission Hospital – Udupi Marathon 2025

Udupi, Oct 17: Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital in association with Udupi Runners Club to organise the second edition of the Lombard Mission Hospital – Udupi Marathon 2025 on December 7, at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Ajjarkad, Udupi.

Dr Sushil Jathanna, director of Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital, Udupi, addressing the media in the press conference held on October 17, said, “The second edition of Lombard Mission Hospital – Udupi Marathon will be held under the theme of “Healthy Heart, Healthy Families,” emphasising fitness and family well-being through community participation in running. The second edition is dedicated to promoting lifestyle change. The special attraction of this second edition is the saree race.”

The marathon features multiple race categories: 21 K (Half Marathon), 10 K Rub, 5K open run, 3 K saree run – a non-timed run celebrating inclusivity and local culture, 5K and 3K students run – promoting youth participation in sports, and 3K fun run.

The event is sponsored by Grassland Developers, Cochin Shipyard Udupi, Indian Medical Association (IMA) Udupi and supported by St Mary’s English Medium School Udupi, Podar International School Udupi, Anandhathirtha Vidyalaya and Anandhathirtha PU college Pajaka Kunjarugiri Udupi.

The marathon is expected to see over 3000 participants from across India. Enthusiast runners can now register on their official website.

The press conference was attended by president of IMA Udupi Dr Ashok, president of Udupi Runners Club Dr Thilak Chandra Pal, secretary Divakar, joint secretary advocate Divyesh Shetty and others.
