Government extends GSTR-3B filing deadline to October 25

New Delhi, Oct 19: The government on Sunday announced a five-day extension for filing the monthly GSTR-3B tax payment form, moving the due date to October 25.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued a notification stating that taxpayers can now submit GSTR-3B for September as well as for the July-September quarter by the revised deadline. GSTR-3B is a monthly and quarterly summary return that registered taxpayers file in a staggered manner between the 20th, 22nd, and 24th of each month, depending on their category.

The extension was widely anticipated, as the earlier October 20 deadline coincided with the Diwali festival, allowing taxpayers additional time to complete their filings without holiday-related delays.

Authorities have urged taxpayers to utilise the extended period to ensure timely compliance and avoid any penalties or interest for late filing.
