Mumbai, Oct 27: Instagram has begun rolling out a much-awaited feature that allows users to view and revisit reels they have previously watched — a move similar to YouTube’s Watch History. The new feature enables users to filter Reels by date, time range, or even by the account that shared them.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the rollout through a post on Threads, stating that the feature is now live on both Android and iOS platforms. Users can access it by navigating to Settings → Your activity → Watch history under the Profile tab.

The Watch History section will appear under How you use Instagram and displays Reels watched within the last 30 days by default. Users can sort videos from oldest to newest or vice versa, remove specific Reels from their history, or refine searches using various filters.
Instagram has introduced three tabs within the feature:
• Sorting Tab: Lets users arrange Reels chronologically.
• Date Filter Tab: Allows filtering by “Past week,” “Past month,” or a specific date range.
• Author Filter Tab: Enables users to locate Reels shared by a particular account.
“So, now hopefully you can find that thing that you were trying to find that you couldn't find before,” Mosseri said while unveiling the feature.
According to Gadgets 360, the Watch History feature for Reels is available on both Android and iOS, offering users greater control and convenience in managing their viewing activity.
