Mangaluru, Oct 29: The NCC army wing of Lourdes Central School was inaugurated with pride and patriotism on October 23 in SJ Hall. The event marked an important step in promoting discipline, leadership, and national service among students.
The chief guest was Lt Col R P Rai, commanding officer of 18 KAR BN NCC, and the guest of honour was Lt Col Gracian Sequeira (Retd), former commanding officer of 18 KAR BN NCC. The event was graced by Fr Johnson L Sequeira (principal), CTO M J Amrithalaxmi, and PI staff Nb Sub NB Patil cadet Nireekshith U P and cadet Ayush Shetty were the guest pilots.
























The programme began with the inauguration and ribbon-cutting of the NCC office, followed by a prayer. Cadet Anirudh Rao hosted the event, and cadet Aayushi M Bhat gave the welcome speech. The guests then lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing knowledge and hope.
Next, the new cadets took the NCC oath, promising discipline and service to the nation. During the felicitation ceremony, the distinguished guests were honored by the principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira, and introduced by cadet Shradha Arbi and cadet Ayush Pai.
In his address, Lt Col R P Rai motivated the students by highlighting the values of discipline, dedication, and patriotism upheld by the NCC. He shared insights into the various training activities and opportunities provided by the NCC, encouraging cadets to develop strong character and leadership qualities. The principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira, appreciated the new NCC unit and encouraged students to be responsible and value-driven.
Around 50 cadets and 150 students from class 7, along with teachers, attended the event. The atmosphere was filled with pride and enthusiasm.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by cadet Naithik and the NCC song, spreading the spirit of unity and patriotism.
The inauguration was a memorable and inspiring event, marking a proud moment for Lourdes Central School.
