Patna, Oct 29: As Bihar heads toward Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a massive rally in Sakra constituency, Muzaffarpur, sharply criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling NDA government. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of prioritizing votes over the welfare of the people.
“Narendra Modi is only concerned about votes. If you ask him to dance to secure votes, he will dance. He will do anything for electoral gains,” Gandhi told the crowd, even as rain poured over the gathering.
Gandhi alleged that PM Modi manipulates religious sentiments for political purposes. “During Chhath, while people offered prayers in the Yamuna River, Modi bathed in a special swimming pool built for himself. This shows he is only after your votes, not your faith,” he said.

The Congress leader further criticized the NDA government for favoring industrialists over the poor and farmers. “Modi destroyed small industries and only benefits big industrialists. Our vision is to make things ‘Made in Bihar,’ not ‘Made in China,’” he added.
Rahul Gandhi shared the stage with Tejashwi Yadav, the Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate, and Mukesh Sahani, VIP chief. Both leaders urged voters to uproot the NDA’s ‘double-engine’ government, accusing it of neglecting the poor and backward communities.
He also highlighted issues in education and employment in Bihar, stating: “Paper leaks and government negligence have ruined the future of hardworking youth. Many Biharis are forced to migrate for education and jobs, struggling under the AIIMS flyover in Delhi.”
Reiterating Congress and the INDIA Bloc’s commitments, Gandhi promised a nationwide caste census and a focus on social justice. “We demanded a caste census, but Modi and the BJP are silent. Nitish Kumar is under their control,” he said.
Concluding his speech, Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people of Bihar to vote for change: “It’s time to replace this government. The Grand Alliance will form a government representing all castes and religions, and we promise to establish one of India’s best universities in Bihar within five years.”
