Mangaluru: Fisherman goes missing after falling into sea during fishing trip

Mangaluru, Oct 30: A fisherman went missing after accidentally falling into the sea while fishing off the coast of Mangaluru.

The missing person has been identified as Philip Bartholomea (56). On October 22, around 11 pm, he had set out to sea along with ten others in a boat from the Mangaluru fishing harbour.

While fishing on the night of October 25, around 11 pm, Philip accidentally fell overboard and was swept away by the waves. Despite efforts by the crew to rescue him, he could not be found.

The boat’s operator informed Philip’s daughter about the incident, following which she filed a complaint at the Mangaluru South police station.
