Noida, Oct 31: In a shocking incident, a senior producer with NDTV was allegedly chased, harassed, and attacked by two men while she was driving home from her office in Sector-129, Noida, early Friday morning.
The journalist, who was on her way to Vasant Kunj, Delhi, in her Ford Figo, was followed by two men on a scooty along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The accused, identified as Deepak and Shubham, both residents of Dabri, Delhi, have several criminal cases against them. Police said the duo, who work as bartenders, were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

According to the journalist, the men tried to block her car and signalled her to stop. “I ignored them at first, but they kept following me. When I slowed down due to traffic, one of them jumped off the scooty, banged on my windscreen, and tried to open the car door,” she said.
Fearing for her safety, she sped toward the DND Flyway, but the men continued chasing her. During the chase, Shubham smashed her car’s rear windscreen and left rear window using a wooden object.
As she entered Lajpat Nagar, a group of taxi drivers noticed her distress and came to her aid. “They asked me to park the car safely, and by then, the two men had fled,” she added.
The journalist immediately called the police and shared her location. Officers reached the spot, recorded her statement, and advised her to file an FIR.
Police later tracked down and arrested both accused, confirming they were under the influence of alcohol during the attack. Further investigation is underway.
