Mount Carmel primary students celebrate the dual spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava and National Unity Day

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The primary students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and National Unity Day 2025 with pride and patriotic fervour on October 31.

The programme commenced with a prayer, seeking the Almighty’s blessings, followed by a captivating welcome dance. Raiza, Aiden, Haksh, Vian, Sayaan and Dhruvith extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Roshan Crasta, radio programme producer at St Aloysius University and introduced him to the audience.

A fitting tribute was paid to the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel who played a pivotal role in uniting the princely states into one nation after India’s Independence. The students presented a lively dance performance to the tune of Nadageethe, portraying the rich culture and traditions of Karnataka.

A thought-provoking skit titled “One India, Great India” beautifully depicted the unity in diversity of our nation, where students represented different States in vibrant rainbow hues. The performances filled the auditorium with pride and patriotism.

The chief guest lauded the students and also urged the students to uphold the spirit of unity in diversity by action in every small way possible. Thereafter he felicitated the winners of the various competitions held.

The administrator, Sr Carissima, fondly reminisced the historical journey of Karnataka Rajyotsava which began from the State of Madras, Mysore and how finally the State of Karnataka was born. She also appreciated the creativity and team work of the students and teachers of grade III D and E in hosting the programme. The winners of various school competitions were felicitated.

The programme was anchored by Ayush, Seth, Tapasya, Varali, Ananya, Yuvansh and Kiyon, while Hamshika, Samhitha, Pooja and Hardik rendered the vote of thanks.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note, radiating the spirit of unity and togetherness.
