Muzaffarnagar, Nov 2: In a shocking incident, the body of a 29-year-old Dalit man was discovered in a sugarcane field at Ghari Firozabad village under Kakroli Police Station limits on Sunday morning.

The deceased, identified as Sonu, had reportedly left home on Saturday evening after receiving a phone call and did not return, police sources said. Villagers later spotted his body lying in the field with multiple stab injuries and immediately alerted the authorities.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal, who visited the spot, said a blood-stained knife and the victim’s motorcycle were recovered from the scene. “The body has been sent for post-mortem. A detailed investigation has been initiated, and teams are working to trace those behind the gruesome murder,” he stated.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Sonu might have been attacked by someone known to him. Police are examining call records and CCTV footage from nearby areas. “The culprits will be arrested soon,” ASP Bansal assured.

The incident has sparked tension in the locality, and additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
