Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava Day

Mangaluru, Nov 2: Lourdes central school celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, with great enthusiasm on the school grounds. Kannada Rajyotsava also known as Karnataka Formation Day is celebrated to commemorate the formation of the state of Karnataka.

The programme graced by the presence of Fr Norman Mathias, assistant parish priest, Bejai parish as the chief guest, along with principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira and vice principal Anita Thomas. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the tricolor flag, followed by the unfurling of the Karnataka state flag. The event was marked with patriotic fervor as the Karnataka state anthem was sung. This symbolic ceremony set the tone for the celebration, highlighting the states pride and unity.

The prayer song was sung by the school choir. Saanvi and Shravanram students of class VII, delivered an inspiring welcome speech to mark the Kannada Rajyotsava Day celebration. Armaan and Naishka delivered an insightful speech highlighting the significance of the day. The students of class VII delivered a captivating spectacle, showcasing a vibrant skit, an exuberant dance performance and a soul stirring poetry recitation to commemorate the celebration. Their artistic expressions eloquently portrayed the states rich cultural legacy and traditions, enthralling the audience with their talent.

The chief guest, Fr Norman Mathias delivered an inspiring message followed by an address from principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira. The principal extended his gratitude to the teachers and students for their efforts in making the celebration a success. Subsequently Adithi Shenoy of class VII delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the soulful rendition of the national anthem, bringing the event to a meaningful close.
